The ENGWE O20 Boost is a compact folding electric bike featuring a 250W rear hub motor, torque-sensing pedal assistance and a removable 48V 15Ah battery. Its step-through aluminium frame, adjustable hydraulic front suspension and hydraulic disc brakes provide a balanced combination of accessibility, control and rider comfort.

A temporary Boost function delivers up to 75Nm of torque when additional support is required, while five pedal-assist levels allow the rider to select an appropriate level of assistance. The folding frame, folding stem and folding pedals help reduce the bike’s overall storage footprint.

The standard UK configuration is supplied with a 250W motor and is designed around Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle requirements. It is also listed by the manufacturer as CE EN 15194 certified. Riders must use the product responsibly and follow all applicable local rules.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ENGWE O20 Boost EAPC compliant?

The standard UK version is supplied with a 250W motor and is designed around EAPC operating requirements. The manufacturer also lists CE EN 15194 certification. Compliance depends on the exact configuration supplied, the assisted-speed limit remaining correctly set and the bike not being modified.

Does the Boost function change the motor’s rated power?

The manufacturer identifies the standard UK motor as a 250W unit. The Boost function is described as temporary additional torque support, providing up to 75Nm. It should not be altered or used to bypass the original operating limits.

Does the bike move without pedalling?

The standard configuration uses pedal assistance. Any walk-assist function, where fitted, is intended only to help manoeuvre the bicycle at low speed and must be used according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

What range can the battery provide?

Manufacturer testing lists up to approximately 141km at assistance level 1, 108km at level 3 and 80km at level 5. These are test figures rather than guaranteed distances. Actual results will vary.

Can the battery be removed?

Yes. The 48V 15Ah battery is removable, allowing it to be charged in a suitable dry indoor location using the supplied compatible charger.

What is the maximum supported load?

The manufacturer lists a maximum total load capacity of 150kg. This figure includes the rider and anything carried on the bicycle.

What rider height is recommended?

The manufacturer recommends the bicycle for riders approximately 155–190cm tall. Individual fit may vary, so riders should confirm that they can safely operate the brakes, pedals and steering controls.

Is the rear rack included?

The manufacturer lists a rear rack as included, with a maximum stated rack load of 15kg. Package contents should always be confirmed against the selected offer at the time of purchase.

Is the bicycle waterproof?

Individual electrical components have manufacturer-listed water-resistance ratings, but the bicycle should not be submerged or cleaned with a pressure washer. Avoid prolonged exposure to heavy rain and store the battery and charger in a dry environment.

Does the bicycle arrive fully assembled?

Some assembly and safety checks may be required before first use. Follow the supplied manual and have the bicycle inspected by a qualified bicycle technician when necessary.

EAPC and Responsible-Use Notice

This listing refers to the standard UK version with a manufacturer-rated 250W motor. EAPC status applies only while the bicycle remains in its original compliant configuration, motor assistance operates only as permitted and the assisted-speed limit remains correctly set.

Do not alter the controller, motor, software, speed settings, sensor system or electrical components in a way that changes the bicycle’s legal classification. Owners are responsible for checking current rules and ensuring the product is used lawfully and safely.

Higher-Powered or Modified Configuration Notice

This notice does not apply to the original standard 250W UK configuration described above.

A version rated above 250W, modified to exceed the permitted assisted-speed limit or configured to provide motor power outside applicable EAPC requirements may not qualify as an EAPC. Such a product may be restricted to private land with the landowner’s permission unless it has the registration, approval, insurance, licensing and safety equipment required for another legal classification.

Never modify the bicycle to bypass its original operating restrictions. The purchaser and rider are responsible for confirming the rules that apply to their exact product configuration and intended place of use.
