FAQs

Q: What is the approximate range on this eMTB?
A: Range depends heavily on rider weight, terrain, assist level, and riding style. Under moderate conditions (mix of flats and trails) expect 30–60 km on a single charge.

Q: Can I ride it in the rain?
A: Yes — the electronics, motor, and wiring are sealed and designed to handle typical wet-weather use. However, avoid deep-water submersion or long exposure to downpours.

Q: Is the battery removable?
A: Yes — the Phylion 36V 10.4 Ah battery can be removed for charging indoors or for easier security.

Q: What maintenance does the drivetrain require?
A: Regular chain lubrication, checking for wear, and occasional adjustment. With good upkeep, Shimano components offer long service life.

Q: Is this suitable for commuting and trails?
A: Absolutely — it bridges off-road capability and commute friendliness, thanks to its robust but versatile build.

UK Road Legal Disclaimer (for e‑bikes in the UK)

  • The Powabyke Chaos eMTB is designed to conform to UK e‑bike (Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle, EAPC) regulations: assistance cut-off at 25 km/h (15.5 mph).
  • You must always pedal for the motor to assist — this is not a throttle-only e-bike.
  • The motor’s peak power must not exceed 250 W continuous (check your specific motor model’s rating).
  • Riders under 14 years old, riding on public roads, may not be allowed under law.
  • You do not need insurance, a driving licence, or vehicle registration to ride an EAPC-compliant e-bike in the UK — provided it meets all regulatory requirements above.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure your final build, firmware, or software modifications do not override these limits and remain within legal compliance.

Important: If you or your retailer modifies the bike (e.g., removes speed limiters, increases motor power beyond 250 W), it may no longer be road‑legal. Always confirm compliance before use on public roads.
